A few days ago in science class we had pick something off Pinterest and recreate it, to test whether or not the store bought bouncy balls or the home made bouncy balls bounced higher. We had to do a TON of research over this subject, you have no idea how factories make bouncy ball. Also making a homemade bouncy ball was not easy either. Our hypothesis was that the store bought bouncy ball will bounce higher then our homemade bouncy ball.
Our
supplies were Borax, cornstarch, and glue
We mixed
them with each other.
For our first try, it went really well.
In one cup:
2 tbsp of warm water
1/2 borax
In another cup:
1 tbsp glue
½ tsp borax
1 tbsp cornstarch
THEN MIX BOTH CUPS TOGETHER UNTIL IT HARDENS- ROLL IT IN YOUR
HANDS TO CREATE A BALL SHAPE
For our second, not so well.
In cup:
1 tbsp glue
½ borax
4 tbsp cornstarch
4 tbsp warm water
These our results of the experiment. If we compare our results to the introduction, you'll see that the frist one we did worked super well, unfortunately the secdon one didn't work as well. The store bought bouncy
ball had a higher bounce than our homemade bouncy ball. The homemade bouncy ball
was fun to make and great for kids! Kids love it and easy to clean up!
